Summary of all obligations and deadlines
In order to successfully conclude an emissions year, companies must fulfil the following obligations:
By 31 March:
- submit a verified emissions report;
- enter emissions data into the CO2 Registry; and
- have the emissions data in the registry confirmed by a verifier.
By 30 April:
- surrender at least as many allowances as the verified emission volumes.
Notifications
In addition to the above year-end requirements, it is also very important for companies to fulfil their notification requirements. Verifiers will bear these in mind during the verification process. The notifications include relevant modifications to emissions monitoring, and the free allocation of allowances.
