Supervision and enforcement of the Energy for Transport system
The NEa is tasked with the facilitation and provision of information regarding the Energy for Transport system. It's tasks also include monitoring compliance with the regulations.
The legislation underpinning the Energy for Transport system derives from European law (REDÂ II) and Dutch law (the Environmental Management Act). The NEa is authorised to take enforcement action against companies that break the law, for example by imposing a fine on a company.
