Verification and accreditation ETS

Independent verification is an important part of compliance with European Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) requirements. Companies must have certain data verified by an independent, accredited verifier prior to submission to the NEa. The verifier will evaluate the accuracy and reliability of the data.

This applies to:

  • emissions reports for year-end closing; and
  • applications for, and certain change notifications regarding, the allocation of free allowances.

Specific information on the emissions report/emissions data verification process is available under ‘Year-end closing’.
